Squared in collaboration with Cerecon and Melbourne Stainless completed the Design and Construction of the architectural feature stair for The Commons new Collingwood office. The staircase is the primary feature of the fit out and is immediately visible upon arrival.
The complexity of this project came from the installation happening after the structurewas complete, requiring the staircase to be prefabricated in modules small enough to fit into the elevator. As there was site welding requirements the stairs had to be painted on site adding additional constraints from a quality perspective.
All elements of the staircase were modelled in 3D and precisely fabricated to ensure they perfectly fit together as there was no cladding to hide any mistakes. Squared achieved the accelerated delivery requirements of the client and we are very proud of this small project.
